Our Mission
House of Stone is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization originally started in 2000 to provide support for children impacted by the HIV-AIDS epidemic in sub-Saharan Africa. Over time, our mission has broadened to supporting programs for young children, specifically in Zimbabwe, mainly through community-initiated projects with plans to be self-sustaining. Examples have included; community-based programs for orphans and vulnerable children, educational programs for children with hearing impairment, preschool programs and most recently water-solar projects. House of Stone has generous direct donors and further fundraises through the sale of Zimbabwean 'Shona’ sculptures. We feel Art is a Bridge between our countries that highlights the resilience, creativity and beauty of Zimbabwe and its people.
